Legume Generation: Summary of the first reporting period

May 22, 2025 | General, News, Science

What has Legume Generation achieved so far? In the first reporting period, the project made important steps toward strengthening legume breeding and building a more sustainable European protein supply.

The video below summarises the communication and dissemination activities that were undertaken so far with the goal of long-term impact.

Communication and dissemination highlights from the reporting period

Strengthening communication and outreach
A Dissemination, Exploitation and Communication (DEC) Plan was developed to support and guide the partners and Innovation Communities. The project increased its visibility through the Legume Generation and Legume Hub websites, social media, targeted press work, and participation in events such as the 2. Leguminosenkongress (Second Legume Congress) in Germany.

Fostering innovation and knowledge transfer
A series of expert webinars supported partners from Legume Generation and the sister project BELIS on topics related to intellectual property and seed exchange systems. These helped breeders and researchers navigate legal frameworks and data tools.

Sharing results and engaging users
Project outputs were shared both within and outside the Innovation Communities, via platforms such as Zenodo, Legume Hub, the project website, and social media.

Ensuring sustainable long-term impact
A strong focus was placed on developing sustainable Innovation Communities and building connections with related EU projects such as BELIS, including joint outreach activities and knowledge exchange.
