Jasmin Karer

Jasmin Karer (Mag.a) is a geographer with an agricultural background. Her previous work focuses on soil, organic matter and carbon storage, with climate change mitigation in the background. Karer has been involved in projects to improve soil fertility and immobilise heavy metals in temperate soils, using biochar. Further, she investigated the potential of wet agriculture and forestry (paludiculture) on rewetted peatlands in Austria. For 11 years, she worked as a researcher for Greenpeace, including investigations on palm oil and timber imports. Since 2020, Karer has been working at Donau Soja in Vienna as a project manager in the research and innovation team.
