Dr. Manfred Weber studied agricultural sciences at the University of Bonn, where he received his doctorate in 1993. Since then he has been working at the Saxony-Anhalt State Institute for Agriculture and Horticulture in the Center for Animal Husbandry and Technology in Iden. His professional focus is on pig farming. For 30 years, he has been involved in pig feeding. In recent years, mainly with experiments on the use of a wide variety of protein feeds. In addition to grain legumes, in particular with the use of rapeseed products.
Since 2009, he has been responsible for the pig farming section of the information platform www.proteinmarkt.de and the UFOP's Germany-wide protein feed monitoring.
