Haberlandt Award for soybean research in Europe and China

The Haberlandt Award recognises outstanding achievements in soybean research in Europe and China. This price is awarded by the Donau Soja Association in cooperation with the Soybean speciality committee of the Crop Science Society of China.

Who can apply?

The award is open for all applicants who have primarily based their soybean research in Europe or China in the last three years. Thematic categories and disciplines applicable:

  • agronomy and crop science research
  • soybean breeding and genetics
  • other disciplines related to cultivation of soybeans

 

Award

A total of 15,000 EUR will be awarded to up to four applicants from Europe and China; the selection of winners is based on scientific quality and will be carried out by an independent panel of experts. Winners will be awarded at the Donau Soja 10th anniversary event in Vienna, Austria, 29 – 30 September 2022.

About this award

This price is awarded by the Donau Soja Association in cooperation with the Soybean speciality committe of the Crop Science Society of China. It receives financial support of the donors of the Haberlandt Scholarship: Ministry for Rural Areas and Consumer Protection Baden-Württemberg (MLR), Bavarian State Ministry for Nutrition, Agriculture and Forestry (StMELF), Agroscope and Saatgut Austria. Its purpose is to reward outstanding performances in soybean research; to rise the awareness about soybean research in Europe and to contribute to better linkages between Chinese and European soybean scientists.
