Plant & Animal Genome Conference 2025 (PAG 32)

Aug 20, 2025 | Event, General, News, Science

From 10 to 15 January 2025 Mária Škrabišová, Ivana Kaňovská and Jana Biová from the Palacký University Olomouc (UP) attended the 32nd edition of the Plant & Animal Genome Conference (PAG) in San Diego, USA. The Plant & Animal Genome Conference (PAG) is designed to provide a forum on recent developments and future plans for plant & animal genome projects. The programme encompasses plenary talks, workshops, technical presentations, poster sessions and exhibits, making it an important opportunity to exchange ideas and applications on this internationally important project.

The team from the Palacký University Olomouc contributes to the Legume Generation project by advancing genetic research in legumes, focusing on data analysis and genome-wide association studies. Through innovative genotyping strategies for soybean, UP explores the genetic potential of European varieties and supports knowledge transfer across the innovation communities.

At the PAG, Mária Škrabišová gave an invited talk presenting project results and held discussions on global limitations in legume genomic data. Ivana Kaňovská and Jana Biová supported the knowledge transfer at the conference by presenting their posters on AccuCalc and MADis, two innovative tools designed to enhance the discovery of causative mutations in associated loci and to reveal multiple alleles within single genes through advanced genomic analysis.
