Satellite-based yield prediction system for optimal decision-making

Mar 2, 2022 | Event

On March 8 an online-workshop on the satellite-based yield prediction system for soybean, which evolved from a collaboration of the BioSense Institute and Donau Soja within the Horizon2020 project Cybele, will be held from 12-1:30pm CET.

World Soybean Research Conference 11

In the workshop it will be demonstrated how the Cybele project contributes to precision agriculture and precision livestock farming, with nine demonstrators that combine state-of-the-art technologies from high-performance-computing (HPC), big data and cloud computing to enable data scientists and farmers who are not experts in HPC systems to optimally leverage supercomputers.

The main focus of the workshop will be on demonstrator #1: “Organic soya yield and protein-content prediction”. Demonstrators’ results will be showcased, explaining the possibilities that the Cybele platform and the demonstrator-tools offer. During the workshop, the business impact which the demonstrator could have on the end users’ businesses will be highlighted. This will allow the consortium to validate its results with those who will ultimately benefit from the solutions developed in the framework of the project.

Workshop programme:

12:00 – 12:10 Introduction: BioSense Institute and Donau Soja
12:10 – 12:20 Cybele Project Overview
12:20 – 13:00 Cybele Demonstrators
13:00 – 13:20 Demonstrator 1: Organic Soya yield and protein-content prediction
13:20 – 13:30 Questions, Wrap-up
